Jarryd R. Lynagh (b. Brisbane / Meanjin, 1994) is an artist and independent curator based in Sydney / Eora. After receiving a Bachelor of Photography majoring in Photojournalism from the Queensland College of Art, Lynagh relocated to Sydney to commence working in the Art sector for a number of galleries and institutions. Lynagh’s practice centres itself around reflections upon memory, the re-presentation of images and interrogating documentary frameworks through expanded photo media works. Utilising print transfer methods, Lynagh embalms various substrates and sculptural forms with imagery. The work is both document and residue, questioning notions of authorship, image permanence and the strange familiarity of the lost and re-seen.
